How to Apply
For A Daniel Foundation of Alabama GrantThe Daniel Foundation of Alabama utilizes online grants management system, Foundant. Many of you will be familiar with this process as there are other foundations across the state who already use Foundant. All stages of our grant process will be submitted online. Grantees will have the ability to draft, save, and submit online as well as upload documents and reports, such as budgets and financial information. Below you will find the steps to our process along with other helpful information.
Create An Account
All applicants are required to create an account. At the time of registration you are required to enter the following information:
- a user name that is an email address
- your contact information
- your organization’s information, including the EIN/Tax ID number
- contact information for the organization’s Executive Officer
You do not have to wait to create an account. You may do it now in anticipation of applying in the future. Creating an account early can avoid any last minute issues well in advance of the deadline. Should you have issues setting up your account, please contact Joyce Brasher, joyce@df-al.com.
Grant Cycle
Step 1: Submit A Letter Of Intent
All processes throughout the Foundation’s grant cycle will now be on line. To submit an LOI you must log into the system. Use the link above to reach the log in page. Once you have logged in click apply on the menu bar. You will see available information for open cycles. Please keep in mind, while you may see more than one cycle open, organizations can only be considered by the Foundation Board one time during a calendar year. See policies and FAQ for more clarification. Once you have submitted your LOI you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Refer to Dates to Remember on our Home page for the timeframe within which you can expect to hear from us.
Step 2: Response
LOIs received will receive a response from the Foundation by the date noted in the Dates to Remember section of the Home page. Every LOI submitted will receive a response. If you do not hear from us by the dates posted please contact us.
Step 3: Proposal
This stage in the process will only be open to those who have received an approval response from the Foundation based on their LOI submission.
Step 4: Review
During this stage of the process we may contact you regarding a site visit or questions we may have about your proposal. We may also contact organizations close to our meeting date to receive an update on fundraising activities. Every organization may not be contacted. Whether or not you are contacted is not a reflection on your proposal or organization.
Step 5: Decision
All final funding decisions are made by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. You will be notified by e-mail of the Board’s decision and the follow-up steps needed.
Step 6: Grant Agreement
Once a grant has been awarded the Grant Agreement will need to be reviewed and signed electronically through the online grants system.
Step 7: Reporting
We always look forward to hearing from you about the effectiveness of the grants awarded. Anytime within the grant period the Grantee Status Report may be submitted. This report will now be completed online by accessing the online grants system. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
