CHANGES!!

We appreciate your patience as we work through the logistics of our new opportunities.  We are making some changes to help with our internal processes and to better match our opportunities with our resources.  The following changes go into effect on February 23, 2026.

  • Rural Opportunities no longer begin with an e-mail.  They will start with a LOI submitted through our online grants management system.
  • Special Projects no longer begin with an e-mail.  They will start with a LOI submitted through our online grants management system.  
  • Special Projects are no longer accepted year round.  They will following the calendar presented above and on the Special Projects page. 
  • For 2026, Special Projects will not be accepting LOIs from organizations new to Daniel Foundation – those having never been board funded.  See FAQs for more information on “board funded”.

The Operating Grant opportunity is no longer split into issue specific cycles.  Eligible organizations that fall within any of our 9 areas of interest for operating grants are welcome to submit an LOI for the next cycle which opens on February 23, 2026 and will remain open until March 6, 2026.  IMPORTANT – For 2026, we will not be accepting applications from organizations new to Daniel Foundation – those having never been board funded.  See FAQs for more information on “board funded”.

Previous grants should be closed and the full grant period expired prior to a new grant opportunity being considered by our board.  If you are within a current grant period and have already expended all funds you are welcome to submit your grantee status report prior to the deadline so that all requirements have been met when the grant period expires.
