SPECIAL PROJECT GRANTS

A Grant Opportunity Area

Please note this information is for special project grants only. There are different requirements for each of our grant opportunities. Please review each one carefully to determine the proper fit for your project or programming.

Priority Area

This grant opportunity is for substantial capital projects, new programming, strategic expansions or larger one-time special projects.

This opportunity is best suited for organizations based and doing work in the following counties:  Autauga, Baldwin, Blount, Cullman, Elmore, Etowah, Jefferson, Lauderdale, Lee, Limestone, Madision, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgan, St. Clair, Shelby, and Tuscaloosa.

Eligibility

  • Must be a 501(c)3 public charity.
  • Due to the anticipation these grants will be larger and possibly multi-year, an organization must sit out for two years before being eligible to apply again.  For Example, if a one year award is made in 2026, the organization would not be eligible to apply again until 2029.
  • For 2026, we will not be considering organizations that have never received board funding from the Foundation.

Priority Exclusions

Requests related to operating expenses or ongoing programming will not be considered through the special projects cycle.
