SPECIAL PROJECT GRANTS

Priority Area

This grant opportunity is for substantial capital projects, new programming, strategic expansions or larger one-time special projects.

Eligibility

• Must be a 501(c)3 public charity.
• Due to the anticipation these grants will be larger and possibly multi-year, an organization must sit out for two years before being eligible to apply again.  For Example, if a one year award is made in 2026, the organization would not be eligible to apply again until 2029.  

Priority Exclusions

Requests related to operating expenses or ongoing programming will not be considered through the special projects cycle.

Process & Timeline

This cycle starts with a brief e-mail to specialprojects@df-al.com. Include a few sentences about the organization and your intended project/programming.  A staff member will respond to your e-mail to learn more. The special projects committee will meet monthly to discuss eligible organizations and opportunities. If it is determined the project should move forward for consideration by the Board of The Daniel Foundation, the organization will be invited to submit a full grant application.

This is a rolling cycle and the timing of the committee meeting and the application submission date (upon formal invitation) will determine at which board meeting the request is considered meetings are currently scheduled to occur in June and October of 2026).
