SPECIAL PROJECT GRANTS

Priority Area
This grant opportunity is for substantial capital projects, new programming, strategic expansions or larger one-time special projects.
This opportunity is best suited for organizations based and doing work in the following counties: Autauga, Baldwin, Blount, Cullman, Elmore, Etowah, Jefferson, Lauderdale, Lee, Limestone, Madision, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgan, St. Clair, Shelby, and Tuscaloosa.
Eligibility
- Must be a 501(c)3 public charity.
- Due to the anticipation these grants will be larger and possibly multi-year, an organization must sit out for two years before being eligible to apply again. For Example, if a one year award is made in 2026, the organization would not be eligible to apply again until 2029.
Priority Exclusions
Requests related to operating expenses or ongoing programming will not be considered through the special projects cycle.
Process & Timeline
Change for 2027: The Operating opportunity will be offered during 2027 cycle 1 & 3 and the Special Project opportunity will be offered during 2027 cycle 2.
This cycle begins with an LOI submitted through our online grants management system.
